President Trump Revokes Harvard's International Student Visas

President Donald Trump has issued a Presidential Proclamation that revokes all new visas for international students at Harvard College. This comes on the heels of many back-and-forths between the current administration and Harvard. In particular, the Proclamation guides the State Department to evaluate future policy around International students at Harvard College.

The fight between Harvard and the Trump administration is by no means settled. This is a proclamation, not an Executive Order. Therefore, it has little force of law, and instead guides Executive Departments. The Proclamation comes after a judge blocked an Executive Order that already targeted Harvard’s international students. Legally, the fact the Proclamation only calls out Harvard would give the school ammunition in court arguments.
